1). Tire valve stem that fits through the wheel to allow the tire to be filled with air or adjusted. Cap seals the valve and prevents foreign debris from entering and damaging the pin. 2). A term used for valve body assembly.

Glossary “valve body assembly” Definition:
An assembly containing the parts that act as the “brain” of an A/T, receiving messages on gear selected, vehicle speed, throttle opening and engine load, then operating automatically by sending fluid to apply the appropriate bands and/or clutches.

Glossary “valve canting” Definition:
Non-parallel placement of valves in a cylinder head.

Glossary “valve angle” Definition:
The angle at which the valve face is machined.
