parameter identification (PID)
Glossary “parameter identification (PID)” Definition:
Function that allows access to certain data values in the PCM. A greater number of PID’s can be accessed on OBD II vehicles, as compared to OBD I vehicles. Not all PID’s can be accessed by generic scan tools.
